Take a private safari to the best of all the east African national parks. You will visit the wonders of the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, the world famous Serengeti National Park and Tarangire‘s gigantic Baobab trees and huge elephant populations. Depending on the time of year, you’ll have the chance to see the great migration in the Serengeti National Park.
The tour starts in Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and ends in Arusha Airport. Along the way you’ll have countless adventures in your own animal tracking vehicle, traveling the wild African savanna in search of big game. If you’re a nature enthusiast at heart, this trip is definitely one you don’t want to miss!
Itinerary Day Description
Day 1: Arrival and picked from Kilimanjaro airport
Drive 50km to Arusha town centre where you will stay your overnight at Planet lodge (BB),
Day 2 and 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
After breakfast, you will have around 3 hours driving crossing the Great Rift valley to Ngorongoro conservation area, where there is Ngorongoro crater, which is the largest volcanic caldera in the world. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600 m deep Ngorongoro Crater as its ground level. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife parks on earth. Endangered black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephants wander the forests, black-manned lions stalk the grasslands, and flamingoes crowd the soda lakes. An estimated 25 000 large mammals are resident in this bowl wildlife. Within Ngorongoro conservation there is Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologist Dr. Leakey discovered the skulls of the known as the early men.
You shall arrive at the crater in time for lunch, have brief break at the Crater view point then descend into the Ngorongoro crater for game drives for the rest of the day. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, in the crater you will see a lot of games including the unique Black rhino, herds of wildebeest, giraffe, kori bustard, ostrich, leopard, eland, warthog, zebra, buffalo, hippo, and elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals and cheetahs.
Spend two nights at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. You will have time to walk on top of the crater rim forest discovering a lot of animals and birds, roaming the scenic surrounds of this natural marvel. Also you will have time to visit Olduvai Gorge and have enough knowledge of the Old Stone Age of the early man. Here you will interact with colored Maasai people living into the wild together with animals as you will learn and experience their unique life style in this world.
Day 4, 5 and 6: Serengeti National Park Gamedrive
After breakfast, you will be departing to Serengeti national park; Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, is one of the world’s most wonderful wilderness areas and is an on-going source of inspiration to photographic travelers. It is Tanzania’s most famous wildlife park and greatest wildlife show on earth, and a once in a lifetime experience! The park is famed for its annual Great Migration, when an estimated around three million games – mostly wildebeest, migrate to Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. This epic, seasonal journey is a deeply moving experience and a wonderful photographic subject. Visitors to the park can roam its beautiful plains by game drives or pop into a hot air balloon for an once-in-a-lifetime wilderness experience.
Spend 3 nights at Kubukubu Tented lodge, and spend days enjoying the endless plains among the teeming resident wildlife, spend the nights enjoying the best in safari leisure. Dawn arrives with a chorus of birdcalls in the bush. As balloon floats above the plains with the rising sun, hearing only the occasional soft roar of the whisper burners as the balloon pilot takes you up over the game-patched landscape. Lean back and relax after a sumptuous bush breakfast, surrounded by nothing but the sweeping golden expanse of the Serengeti. Spend a golden afternoon immersed in the snorting, cavorting antics of the Great Migration’s wildebeest and zebra. Take a slow look around – the horizon stretches forever, in every direction. Spot the predators like lions, yawning away the day in preparation for active early morning hunting. As the day winds down, top a gentle rise and marvel at another perfect view as you take drinks with warm smiles.
Day 7, 8, 9 and 10: Serengeti National Park Gamedrive and Zanzibar Excursions
Sunrise game drives, then you will be departing to Grumeti airstrip for a scheduled flight to Zanzibar Airport. On arrival in Zanzibar you will be picked to the particular port and take a boat to Mnemba Island, where you will relax and enjoy your moment at a luxury lodge.
More than 1000 years ago, the Arab dhows were first spotted across the horizon of the Indian Ocean waters discovering Africa’s eastern shores. The name Zanzibar evokes dreams of romance and mystery and reality will not disappoint. The Island, for centuries attracted seafarers and adventurers from around the World. Now it welcomes a new generation of explorers – those who have come to marvel at the rich heritage, reflected in the architecture and the culture of the people. These explorers had happened upon an island of such exquisite beauty that they filled their parchment manuscripts with tales detailing the appealing sights. Today the Zanzibar Archipelago is still bathed in the heady scents of cloves and cinnamon, and traditional dhows still drift across the horizon.
Spend four leisurely nights at luxury lodge in Mnemba Island – the perfect way to end off a safari. For the next few days in the island and its ocean are yours to explore and enjoy. Spend a lot of time with free and private relaxation along the warm sand of the Indian Ocean shores. Other activities could be snorkeling, diving, deep-sea fishing safari.
Day 11: Transfer to Dar es salaam Airport
After breakfast picked to Zanzibar Airport for your International scheduled flight or you take a domestic flight to Dar es Salaam to connect for your flight back home.
